Vu Ngoc Thien, a photographer, shares his experience climbing the fourth highest mountain in Vietnam. He resides in Thai Binh province and has a passion for traveling to many places across the country.

Mr. Ngoc Thien chose the end of October 2022 to climb to the summit of Bach Moc Luong Tu. According to his experience, this is the most suitable time of year for mountain climbing. The weather is less rainy at this time, and tourists can easily admire the sea of clouds, sunsets, and sunrises from the mountain peaks. Speaking to Travellive, Mr. Thien shared that the journey to conquer Bach Moc Luong Tu peak brought him many different emotions.

The Muoi Mountain landmark is located at an altitude of over 2000m above sea level.

"Bach Moc Luong Tu is the fourth highest mountain in Vietnam, and its climbing difficulty is higher than other mountains. The journey to conquer this peak offers climbers a range of emotions, diverse weather conditions, and challenging terrain. It's a long trek along steep cliffs and high slopes," Ngoc Thien said. He also experienced the feeling of having dinner on the summit of Muoi Mountain, amidst the vast, tranquil space of the mountains and forests. These are feelings that can never be experienced in the lowlands.

The series of photos of Bach Moc Luong Tu in the early morning mist was taken by the photographer throughout his mountain climbing trip. Initially, he didn't have a specific plan for where to photograph; Ngoc Thien took photos completely spontaneously throughout the trip. On the other hand, for many special photos, he needed to spend more time finding new angles. When asked about the difficulties while photographing on the summit of Bach Moc Luong Tu, the photographer shook his head, saying the mountain climbing route was quite arduous, and the equipment he carried was heavy, making photography anything but easy.

"Besides Bach Moc Luong Tu, in Lao Cai I suggest you climb Niu Co San peak," Ngoc Thien said. In the near future, Thien plans to conquer Fansipan peak, the roof of Vietnam, by land.

Bach Moc Luong Tu (or Ki Quan San) is one of the four highest mountain peaks in Vietnam, located between Lai Chau and Lao Cai provinces. The Bach Moc Luong Tu mountain range has a rather rugged terrain and is an attractive Northwest trekking destination that has been explored by trekkers since 2012. The highest peak of this mountain range is approximately 3046m above sea level. The distance from the foot of the mountain to the summit is about 30km, passing through various terrains such as barren hills, bamboo forests, large timber forests, dwarf bamboo forests, and steep cliffs covered in moss.

The average time to climb Bach Moc Luong Tu is 2-4 days. If it's your first time conquering Bach Moc Luong Tu, it's best to go with someone who has a lot of experience climbing mountains here or hire a guide at a cost of about 250,000 VND/day.
