The People's Committee of An Giang province has launched the smart tourism portal checkinangiang.vn and the smart tourism application checkinangiang on mobile devices.
This is a significant event for An Giang's tourism industry, marking a step forward from traditional tourism to the application of information technology to develop a smart, convenient, and efficient tourism industry that serves tourists, local people, and businesses.
The An Giang smart tourism portal, located at https://checkinangiang.vn, and the An Giang smart tourism application, checkinangiang, are deployed simultaneously and support both Android and iOS operating systems.
To better serve tourists, the province's tourism industry has continuously strived to build an image of a friendly, peaceful, and hospitable An Giang. Besides consolidating existing strengths, An Giang has encouraged and invested in developing many new tourism products to meet the increasingly high and diverse demands of tourists.
An Giang tourism has many new features that attract tourists.
In particular, the province has recently continued to innovate in its focus on and investment in tourism by promoting the application of science and technology to exploit and awaken its potential. Accordingly, An Giang is strengthening digital transformation in tourism activities, with many forms such as virtual reality exhibitions, tourism promotion campaigns on TikTok, and boosting communication about the province's tourism on social media platforms. The most notable project is the An Giang Smart Tourism Information Portal, directly managed by the An Giang Trade and Investment Promotion Center (ATIP).
The portal is built with a tourism database including travel companies; hotels; restaurants; entertainment, cultural and artistic venues; shopping centers; sports centers; transportation information related to flight schedules and bus routes; transportation rental locations; and comprehensive information on administrative procedures…
The portal also incorporates a rich travel map feature, including digital maps, directions, travel diaries, a visitor support system, a feedback collection system, virtual tour guide services, accommodation management, and more. In addition, it provides tools to help residents and tourists provide feedback and suggestions for the tourism industry.
In 2023, An Giang welcomed approximately 8.5 million visitors; of which over 700,000 were overnight guests.
