In addition, to better protect the whale sharks from human impact, visitors are not allowed to use sunscreen while diving. Most importantly, visitors are not allowed to touch the whale sharks' bodies and must maintain a distance of 1.2 meters; violations will result in a fine. This distance is to ensure the safety of visitors and protect these giant animals.
