The National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting has issued a warning that a major flood will occur on rivers in the Northern region from September 10th to 11th. During this flood, the peak water levels on small rivers in the northern mountainous provinces and rivers in the lower reaches of the Red River Delta - Thai Binh, and coastal estuaries will reach alarm levels 2-3, with some rivers exceeding alarm level 3.
Rising water levels in rivers and streams cause flooding in low-lying areas along the riverbanks, encroaching on riverbeds and causing deep submersion in many areas of sandbars in the middle of the river. This affects activities such as waterway transportation, aquaculture, agricultural production, people's lives, and socio-economic activities in the downstream areas of the Lo and Hong - Thai Binh rivers.
People in Quang Binh province make dried shredded pork with lemongrass to send to their compatriots in the North.
The high water levels in the lower reaches of the Red River - Thai Binh River, which have persisted for several days, could cause riverbank erosion and compromise the safety of dikes in the Red River - Thai Binh Delta. In Hanoi, there is a warning of flooding risk in the mid-river areas along the Red River in Tay Ho, Long Bien, Hoan Kiem, and Gia Lam districts.
When natural disasters struck, the North witnessed heartwarming scenes of human kindness. People across the provinces and cities quickly joined hands to support their compatriots in the flooded areas. When the raging floods swept away so much hope, the people and local authorities did not hesitate to contribute their efforts to help their fellow citizens.
People from Nghe An province are making banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) to send to their compatriots in the flood-stricken areas of Northern Vietnam.
Many people in Da Nang stayed up all night, packing thousands of banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) to send to their beloved North, who are struggling amidst the devastating floods.
Since the floods affected people's lives, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police have mobilized more than 4,000 officers and soldiers; 1,035 patrol and rescue vehicles; 100 motorboats and rubber boats; and over 500 life jackets, lifebuoys, and medicines to evacuate and relocate people.
In the face of severe flooding, the spirit of mutual support within the community was clearly demonstrated. By 4 PM on September 9th, authorities had safely evacuated 2,364 households, equivalent to approximately 10,000 people, to shelters. Simultaneously, a widespread fundraising campaign to support flood victims was launched.
Many people have posted messages on social media expressing their willingness to help flood victims.

Accordingly, in Yen Bai City, at Tung Duong Restaurant in Dong Tam Ward, a large number of women from the Minh Tan Ward Women Entrepreneurs Association and some individuals from the City's Women Entrepreneurs Club gathered to prepare free meals for families affected by the floods. Lunch consisted of mixed fried rice; dinner included boxed meals.

Throughout the day, thousands of meals were delivered to flood-affected residents in Hong Ha, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Nam Cuong wards and Hop Minh commune. In the afternoon, another 1,000 meals were distributed. Along with the meals, the female entrepreneurs also provided 100 boxes of bottled water and 100 boxes of instant noodles, hoping to contribute a small part in sharing and helping those affected by the natural disaster.
These meals in Yen Bai are intended to be delivered directly to people in flood-affected areas.
Meanwhile, in Hanoi, the Hanoi City Steering Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention and Control issued a Level II flood alert on the Red River at 11:30 PM on September 10th, covering the districts of Bac Tu Liem, Tay Ho, Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, Hoang Mai, Long Bien, and the districts of Thanh Tri, Dong Anh, and Gia Lam.
Activities such as donating life jackets, food, medicine, essential supplies, and cooking charitable meals for relief efforts were launched on social media platforms like Facebook, Zalo, and Instagram. Immediately after information about the flooding situation was released, numerous personal accounts and charitable groups called on the community to donate these essential items, and within hours, the message spread widely, receiving a positive response.

Many "zero-cost truck" convoys organized by individuals have transported essential supplies, boats, canoes, or manpower to provide assistance. As of 6 PM on September 9th, Thai Nguyen City had received over 300 kg of dried food and hundreds of boxes of drinking water as relief.
The vehicles were filled with food supplies for the villagers.
In online community groups of people in Huong Son commune (My Duc district, Hanoi), the call for boat transfers and assistance for flood-affected residents continues. In the coming days, more boats will be transported to Thai Nguyen and Yen Bai provinces to help local people overcome storms and floods and evacuate to safe areas.
Thanks to the combined efforts of the online community and charitable groups, households severely affected by the disaster have received timely assistance.
The image of the entire village working together to cook, with the thought "we cannot let our fellow villagers go hungry," is deeply moving.
Representatives of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Red Cross Society said that since the early morning of September 10th, they have continuously received aid from benefactors, organizations, and groups across the provinces and cities, including fresh water, milk, dried food, life jackets, and medical equipment. The unit is mobilizing high-clearance vehicles, canoes, boats, and rescue teams to transport relief supplies to people in deeply flooded areas as quickly as possible.

Thanks to the collective efforts of the online community and charitable groups, severely affected households received timely assistance. Each gift given served as encouragement, giving them strength to overcome difficulties and quickly restore their lives to normalcy.
