Modern adventure travel trends
A new type of tourism is gradually changing current travel trends. With unique destinations and thrilling outdoor activities, adventure tourism is becoming a global trend.

From campsites at the foot of the Himalayas in Nepal and Leh Ladakh (India), to the harsh deserts of Australia or the diverse landscapes of Thailand, these journeys offer countless opportunities for adventure tourism.
The numbers speak for themselves.
According to Ford's 2017 Everest User Analysis (NCBS) report, drivers are using off-road driving features like the Ford Everest's Terrain Management System (TMS) more frequently than ever before. 25% of Everest owners in China drive on dirt, gravel, or rough terrain at least once a month, and 65% at least once a year. In India, 21% of Everest owners drive on muddy terrain at least once a month. In Thailand, one in two Everest owners uses their vehicle in off-road mode at least once a year, compared to only about 30% in 2016.
Conquer challenging terrains.
Renowned for its off-road capabilities, the Terrain Management System (TMS) helps Ford Everest users easily navigate mud, sand, snow, and gravel terrain. Combined with its always-on four-wheel drive system, adventurous travelers can confidently drive even in the most challenging environments.

This system includes four driver-selectable modes. Standard mode provides control on paved roads or similar conditions. Mud/Snow mode is useful for navigating slippery surfaces covered in gravel, wet grass, mud, or snow. Sand mode is used for thick sand or muddy terrain. Finally, Rock mode assists adventurers in conquering the most challenging and rugged terrain.

According to Ian Foster, Ford Everest Project Lead Engineer: “The Ford Everest is an extraordinary off-road vehicle, yet incredibly comfortable for long journeys to exciting destinations. Our advanced driver assistance technologies, such as lane keeping assist and collision warning, ensure the safety of your family and friends in all road conditions. Furthermore, the Terrain Management System (TMS) not only makes everyday driving easier but also takes you on memorable adventures.”
Tips for staying safe on adventurous trips.
Before venturing to remote and isolated locations, Ford recommends having at least two vehicles on each off-road trip. These "companions" will ensure passenger safety in case the vehicle gets stuck or breaks down.

Remember to bring essentials such as a first-aid kit, snacks, blankets, a tow rope, plenty of water, a cell phone or satellite phone with a charger, in case of emergencies.

And finally, don't forget to take pictures to share memories of your trip to those amazing places that everyone thought were impossible to reach.
