Modern adventure travel trends
A new form of tourism is gradually changing the current travel trends. With unique locations and thrilling outdoor activities, adventure tourism is becoming a trend all over the world.

From the Himalayan foothills of Nepal and Leh Ladakh (India), to the harsh deserts of Australia or the diverse terrains of Thailand, these journeys offer countless great opportunities for adventure tourism.
The numbers speak for themselves.
According to Ford’s 2017 National Endeavor Buyers Survey (NCBS), drivers are using off-road driving features like the Ford Everest’s Terrain Management System (TMS) more often than ever before. 25% of Everest owners in China drive on dirt, gravel, or rough roads at least once a month, and 65% at least once a year. In India, 21% of Endeavor Everest owners drive on mud at least once a month. In Thailand, one in two Everest owners use their vehicle in its off-road setting at least once a year, compared to only about 30% in 2016.
Conquer challenging terrain
Renowned for its off-road capabilities, the Terrain Management System (TMS) helps Ford Everest drivers easily overcome mud, sand, snow and gravel. Combined with the always-on four-wheel drive system, so adventurous travelers can confidently control the vehicle even in the most difficult terrain.

The system includes four driver modes that can be selected on the go. Standard mode helps control on-road asphalt or similar road conditions. Mud/Snow mode is useful in supporting the vehicle on slippery road surfaces, covered with gravel, wet grass, mud or snow. Sand mode is used for terrain with deep sand or mud. Finally, Rock mode helps adventurers conquer the most difficult and bumpy roads.

“The Ford Everest is a phenomenal off-road vehicle, yet comfortable enough for long journeys to exciting destinations,” said Ian Foster, Chief Engineer, Ford Everest. “Our advanced driver assistance technologies, such as lane-keeping assist and collision warning, will keep your family and friends safe in all road conditions. And the Terrain Management System (TMS) not only makes everyday driving easier, but also takes you on memorable adventures.”
Tips for staying safe on adventurous trips
Before heading off-road, Ford recommends having at least two vehicles on each off-road trip. This “companion” will ensure the safety of passengers in case the vehicle gets stuck or breaks down.

Remember to bring essentials such as a first aid kit, snacks, blankets, winch rope and plenty of water, a cell phone or satellite phone and charger, in case of emergency.

And finally, don't forget to take pictures to share memories of your trip to the majestic lands that people think are impossible.
