China is famous for many unique constructions and one of them is the hotel simulating 3 giant statues of the gods Phuc - Loc - Tho located in a prime location in the center of Lang Phuong city, Hebei province. The hotel forms a 10-storey building, 41.6 m high.
The hotel takes its name, “Tianzi,” which translates to “Son of Heaven” in English, after the statues of three deities. Dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), these deities embody three supposed attributes for a good life. Each deity also has its own astrological and historical associations.
In addition, the architect of the building also revealed that the place where the hotel is located used to be a cemetery, so he believes that designing the three gods Phuc, Loc, Tho will help ward off evil spirits. The three gods symbolize good things in life such as luck, prosperity and longevity.
Thien Tu Hotel is located in Langfang City, Hubei Province.
If you stand in front of the hotel, you will see a "peach" in the left palm of the god of longevity. This is not only a fruit, but also a hotel room. Most of the hotel's windows are hidden behind the costumes of the three gods. If you look from afar, it will be difficult to see the hotel entrance, which is a two-way glass door designed at the right foot of the god of longevity. In addition, the most expensive room is the peach in the hand of the god of longevity.
The images are symbolic of China, with the three gods Fu in the middle, representing happiness, blessing and good fortune. Lu on the right, meaning fortune, goodness, status and wealth. Shou means long life, similar to the meaning of the Confucius saying: “The wise are happy, the benevolent live long”.
From a distance, the building stands out among the surrounding high-rise buildings because of its unique shape. Many people mistake it for a giant statue of a god, but inside is actually a large hotel.
In 2011, the Tianzi Hotel was recognized by Guinness World Records as the "building with the largest image" when it was just completed and is considered one of the 10 strangest architectures in the world.
With its colorful appearance and unique design, it has left a deep impression on many tourists. The building, which resembles three gods, has made many people curious to come and see it, becoming one of the interesting check-in spots in Hebei when traveling to China. However, according to Frommers, the Tianzi Hotel was voted the ugliest building in China in 2012.

Interior of Tianzi Hotel
Despite consistently ranking among the world’s most unusual hotels, precise details and information regarding the interiors of this turn-of-the-millennium masterpiece are scarce; rather, mysterious stories of visits are passed from one visitor to another. This is quite remarkable in an age where the internet allows us to research most hotels thoroughly before booking. But perhaps it is this element of mystery that makes this unusually designed hotel so appealing.
The architects tried to make the building more airy with details such as windows, ventilation doors in decorative details or in the space between the 3 "gods".
Some people think the hotel is not that bad, but sleeping inside a hotel with the three symbols of Phuc, Loc, Tho is perhaps "a bit unusual".
According to a review by a traveler who has experienced the Tianzi Hotel on trip.com, Herper said: "The hotel is generally quite good, because it is located on the side of the road, it is a bit noisy at night. Compared to similar hotels, the advantage of this hotel is that the rooms are spacious enough, and the backyard has a parking lot. The disadvantage is that there is no elevator to go up and down. It will be very inconvenient if you bring luggage."
Another account named lanxing1860 also said: "The owner has a very good attitude, the facilities are new, clean and hygienic. But the day I checked in, there were a lot of mosquitoes and ants, I couldn't sleep until almost morning."
Although very famous, Tianzi Hotel is quite difficult to find. Many tourists who want to come here have to use the navigation system because of its special location.
Seen from behind, Thien Tu Hotel is also designed in the same way as the front with colorful colors like the "robes" of the 3 gods. The architects tried to make the details of the building more airy such as windows, ventilation doors in the decorative details or in the space between the 3 "gods".
