Jaguar – Land Rover Vietnam showroom opens in Hanoi.

The showroom, spanning over 1000m2, displays the full range of brand-new Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles. The service area, exceeding 2000m2, features 12 repair bays capable of servicing 12 vehicles simultaneously. The service workshop boasts a high repair capacity and is equipped with state-of-the-art, specialized equipment meeting European standards. A team of professional sales consultants, engineers, and technicians are formally trained according to global Jaguar-Land Rover standards. The showroom provides all genuine Jaguar Land Rover parts for immediate replacement upon customer request. The Land Rover Discovery Sport was also launched on the showroom's opening day.

The Land Rover Discovery Sport will officially replace its predecessor, the Freelander 2 or LR2. This is also the first model to be launched as part of Land Rover's Discovery line expansion plan. Unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, the 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport, with its luxurious design combined with a sporty and robust style, will be a direct competitor to the Mercedes GLK, Audi Q5, and BMW X3.

In Vietnam, the 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, similar to the Range Rover Evoque. The engine produces a maximum power of 240 horsepower and a maximum torque of 340 Nm. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a standard 9-speed automatic transmission.

The 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport is equipped with a range of modern technologies, including a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and voice-controlled satellite navigation. Other features include Bluetooth connectivity, all-terrain driving mode, and standard dual-zone electronic climate control.

With Jaguar Land Rover's design philosophy, the seats in the new SUV are highly versatile, allowing users to easily fold or remove the rear seats to maximize space when needed. Simultaneously, the Discovery Sport boasts a large sunroof, a modern central control screen, and a multi-functional steering wheel integrated with advanced technology. This interior structure is reminiscent of Jaguar Land Rover's previous luxury SUVs.

The second row of passenger seats is positioned 50 mm higher than the front. In addition to the 60/40 split, the second row can recline and slide backward by 160 mm. This gives the 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport up to 1,011 mm of legroom for rear passengers. The spacious interior with its 5+2 seating configuration is the biggest difference from its German competitors.

The 2015 Discovery Sport is built on a 2,741 mm wheelbase with an overall length of 4,599 mm, making the new SUV 91 mm longer than the Freelander 2.

Details such as the hood, front bumper, and rear compartment are all made of aluminum, while the crossbeams utilize magnesium to significantly enhance rigidity and torsional strength. The lower guide rails of the front suspension are made of steel with aluminum joints, and the rear suspension incorporates aluminum in a flexible design to minimize vehicle weight. Accordingly, the manufacturer claims the total weight of the vehicle is approximately 1790 kg.

Land Rover offers a range of different interior option packages to suit diverse user needs. You can transform the 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport into a standard family car or even a high-end, luxurious sports car of your own. The most basic interior features include leather seats of your choice, five interior color options, a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, an 8" TFT-LCD touchscreen in the center console, optional paddle shifters, and infotainment system controls.

More expensive versions offer the option to customize the main color scheme of the entire cockpit. Advanced options include double-stitched leather seats, an 8-inch touchscreen, and a rear-seat entertainment system. Additionally, users can add accessories such as an iPad holder and a mini-refrigerated compartment in the center console.

The exterior of the 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport will feature details such as rearview mirrors, front air vents, rear bumper, and roof, offering two paint color options: Santorini Black or Corris Grey. It will also have 19-20" alloy wheels and gloss black side grilles, with nine color options: Fuji White, Santorini Black, Corris Grey, Indus Silver, Loire Blue, Scotia Grey, Kaikoura Stone, and Firenze Red.

The 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport's off-road capabilities are further enhanced by Hill Descent Control (HDC) with Gradient Release Control (GRC), Roll Stability Control (RSC), Engine Drag Torque Control, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), and Electronic Traction Control (ETC). In terms of safety technologies, the 2015 Discovery Sport is equipped with Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), and Cornering Brake Control (CBC). Additionally, the manufacturer offers an optional Active Emergency Braking (AEB) system that automatically activates the brakes to reduce the severity of a collision, and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR).
