This performance is part of the 2014 Italy-Vietnam Program. “Mezzotono, the Italian a cappella group” consists of five young Italian artists who perform entirely using the “a cappella” technique, meaning they create sound and music without any instruments; their voices express the sounds of various instruments. This unique approach encourages the audience to join in their melodies, becoming part of the orchestra itself.

The uniqueness of the artists' performances is explored through Italian music, expressed in a variety of styles. From jazz to bossa nova, from mambo to tango, from big-band to classical music – all the songs have a very different effect from the original versions due to the improvisational style and the rhythmic harmonization of the vocals.
"Mezzotono" has performed in several theaters in Italy and abroad. The artists have also held workshops and master classes at universities worldwide on a cappella vocal technique. In October 2008, the group was selected as one of the ten best groups in Italy and was invited to release a CD titled "A Cappella Made in Italy".
At the concert in Hanoi, several famous Italian songs will be performed, including: “Quando quando quando” (Tony Renis), “Un uomo in frack” (Domenico Modugno), and “Buonasera Signorina” (Fred Buscaglione).
