The skillful body movements in Vietnamese Bamboo Circus evoke plot and express emotions: the couple's contortion depicts the lingering mood of separation, while the juggling shows the joy of work.
With Vietnamese Bamboo Circus, bamboo skillfully combines with humans in each circus act: juggling bamboo sticks twice as high as a human body, bending with bamboo, flying with bamboo sticks, balancing on bamboo towers, somersaulting with bamboo baskets... In addition, bamboo is also flexibly used to create scenes, sometimes depicting a peaceful countryside river, sometimes becoming a majestic high mountain.
Vietnamese Bamboo Circus uses live music, going beyond the background role and becoming a character in the story. The musical instruments used in Vietnamese Bamboo Circus are diverse, rich and bear the cultural imprint of the theme of each play: from the gongs of the Central Highlands, the Dan Day in Northern Ca Tru, to the Dan Co in Southern Don Ca Tai Tu.
