Quang Binh looks absolutely stunning in KONG: SKULL ISLAND.

Introduced to audiences over eight decades ago, Kong has transcended the boundaries of a film to become an iconic monster in cinematic history, associated with many unforgettable memories in the minds of all of us. This March, the latest blockbuster about the legend Kong – KONG: SKULL ISLAND – will be released to audiences with many of the most majestic and beautiful scenes filmed in Vietnam – images that have certainly never appeared on the big screen before.

KONG: SKULL ISLANDSet in 1973 – the year the Vietnam War ended and Landsat, the Earth observation program of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), was officially launched.

With the desire to completely immerse the audience in the harsh, untamed wilderness of Skull Island, the filmmakers traveled to numerous locations with magnificent natural landscapes around the world to film scenes for this movie. The filming process forKONG: SKULL ISLANDIt spans three continents with destinations located in Australia, Hawaii, and Vietnam.

Producer Alex Garcia commented: “Filming in Vietnam, with its beautiful natural landscapes, was a great privilege for our film crew. The spectacular scenery here provided a truly special backdrop for our story. During their three-week stay in Vietnam, the film crew shot at several famous landmarks such as the Tu Lan cave system, Phong Nha cave in Quang Binh, Trang An ecological area, Tam Coc and Van Long lagoon in Ninh Binh, and the natural wonder of Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh…

Director Vogt-Roberts expressed his fondness for Vietnam, particularly for the scenes filmed in Quang Binh. He shared: “Everything about Quang Binh is very special to me. Every place I've been to in Vietnam has given me different feelings; the people here possess a very special charm. As soon as I set foot in Quang Binh, I exclaimed, 'We have to film here, we have to come to Vietnam!'” He went on to praise the beauty of Vietnam, saying that its scenic spots are truly rare, beautiful, and unique wonders.
