Rome's city council is considering restricting visitors to the famous Trevi Fountain by charging a fee and requiring reservations, one of the city's most popular tourist attractions, in a move that has been blamed for overtourism.

According to the city council's draft, visitors who want to visit the Trevi Fountain must make reservations in advance, at fixed times. The number of people allowed on the steps around the fountain should also be limited.
