As countries around the world import vaccines to inoculate their citizens, a question many are asking is: Is it safe to travel now? The answer is "No".

Vaccinated individuals are safer when traveling, but it takes time for immunity to develop, so there's still a possibility they could carry and spread the virus to others. Unvaccinated individuals are highly susceptible to infection if traveling at this time, especially with new virus strains emerging.

Forbes predicts August as the earliest date. However, experts also emphasize that nothing is certain, and what travelers need to do to make this date a reality sooner is to follow the pandemic prevention rules of various governments. Some of these measures include: wearing masks, sanitizing hands, social distancing, and not traveling if unvaccinated.

Furthermore, experts point out that vaccines are only truly effective when the world, or the country you wish to visit, achieves "herd immunity." This means that most of the population has been vaccinated, community infections are decreasing, and the risk of transmission is extremely low. Currently, no one can be certain whether vaccines will prevent the spread of Covid-19.
