Luc Ngan is a mountainous district located in the northeast of Bac Giang province, about 40 km from Bac Giang city. Mentioning Luc Ngan is mentioning one of the largest fruit growing areas in the Northern Delta. Among them, the most prominent is lychee, a fruit that has become a famous brand of this land full of sun and wind.

Lychee was planted in Luc Ngan in the late 80s of the last century. Thanks to the diligence and hard work, the people here have turned these arid hills into vast lychee hills, bringing prosperity and abundance. Although lychee originally originated from Thanh Ha (Hai Duong), when transplanted to Luc Ngan, it suited the soil and continued to flower and bear fruit, bringing a sweet and fragrant fruit.

Lychee season is in full swing
June comes, when the cuckoo calls its flock, it is also the time to signal that the lychee season is approaching. Luc Ngan in June becomes unusually crowded and bustling. At this time, standing anywhere on Luc Ngan and looking far away, you can see the image of clusters of red lychees layer by layer surrounding the hills and villages.

This is the busiest season of the year for Luc Ngan people when everyone is focused on harvesting lychees. Lychees in the main season must be picked at 2am so that people can pack them in baskets and bring them to the market at 5:30am.

Each motorbike carried hundreds of kilograms of fabric to the market. The joy of a good harvest after a year of hard work shone on their sweaty faces.

Every lychee harvest season, all the roads in Luc Ngan are covered with a new coat of red, blazing like fire in the summer sun. National Highway 279, the section that cuts through Tan Son and Cam Son communes (Luc Ngan, Bac Giang), is the "bloodline" road during the lychee trading season.

The traffic jams caused by lychees can last for kilometers, creating a vibrant red road. Motorbikes lined up one after another carrying tons of lychees to the purchasing markets, spreading the heat of the biggest lychee harvest season in the country.
The suspension bridge brings "red" buses into Chu town.

Chu town is bustling with people and vehicles...
When lychee season comes, you just need to go to the market and spend a few tens of thousands of dong to enjoy the freshest lychees. However, for those who love to travel, harvesting lychees with farmers and enjoying the fruit you just picked is an experience not to be missed!

And a trip to explore the vast forests and the rippling lakes in the middle of a land of sweet fruit will be the perfect choice for these hot, sultry summer days.
