Realizing the importance of Korean ginseng, in Hanoi, on the morning of November 2, the Korea Food and Agriculture Organization held a seminar on the scientific superiority and effectiveness of Korean ginseng, a product that is currently affirming its position as a typical food for Vietnamese health.
The conference was attended by many prestigious experts in Oriental medicine and functional foods with important presentations on the effects of ginseng on health improvement. In particular, it provided newly published scientific information to help better understand the advantages of Korean ginseng.

Types of ginseng introduced at the seminar
According to medicine, ginseng is a rare medicinal herb that is bitter, non-toxic, has the effect of greatly replenishing vital energy, helping to improve health and enhance physical strength for humans thanks to important organic compounds such as Germanium, Glycoside Panaxin along with vitamins B1, B2, fatty acids such as Panmitic acid, Streari, Linoleic and amino acids. In particular, ginseng has great effects in nourishing the brain, developing thinking and intelligence, strengthening the immune system, supporting cancer treatment, and preventing aging. Korean ginseng is a medicinal herb that has long been famous in the world. Currently, Vietnam is the 5th largest market of Korea, after Japan, China, Hong Kong, and the US, with the amount of ginseng products exported reaching over 10 million USD per year.

According to Mr. Choi Jung Ki - Chief Representative of aT in Hanoi, Vietnam is the 5th largest export market for Korean ginseng with the export value to this market in 2016 reaching 11 million USD and is expected to increase further from 2018 when the FTA agreement between Vietnam and Korea takes effect, the tax rate will be 0%. "Korean ginseng is a precious medicinal herb for human health that has been recognized worldwide. We always hope that more and more Vietnamese people will be able to use high-quality ginseng products, processed from the best quality and most quintessential ginseng roots".
