Located in Hoa Thang commune, Bac Binh district, about 60 km north of Phan Thiet city, Bau Trang is one of Binh Thuan's famous tourist destinations. Dubbed the "mini Sahara desert" of Vietnam, it stands out with its two large lakes, the mystical Trinh Nu sand dunes, and its unique forest ecosystem, attracting thousands of visitors every year.
The tourism management board has repeatedly advised off-road vehicle service providers not to take tourists to locations with potential safety risks.
Despite its pristine and majestic beauty, the Trinh Nu sand dunes area also harbors certain risks. In 2023, a serious landslide occurred at the foot of the Trinh Nu sand dunes. Therefore, the tourism management board has repeatedly issued warnings and advised off-road vehicle service providers not to take tourists to high-risk areas, in order to ensure maximum safety for visitors during their experience there.
