As a mountainous border province with a long history of formation and development, Cao Bang is blessed with many famous beautiful landscapes and rich cultural features that reflect the strong ethnic identity. Leveraging these abundant natural and human resources, Cao Bang has been striving to establish itself as a tourism center in the northern mountainous region.
Thanks to a new policy allowing tourists to travel between the Ban Gioc Waterfall Scenic Area (Vietnam) and Duc Thien (China) with just a passport or travel document without needing a visa since September 2023, Cao Bang tourism is attracting a large number of visitors.
Tourists only need to use their passports or travel documents and do not need to apply for a visa. For tourists who do not have these documents, they only need to provide their personal information to the travel agency one day in advance to complete the necessary procedures to participate in the trip. This has created convenience and flexibility for those who want to explore new lands without facing administrative hassles.

Border tourism attracts both domestic and international tourists, contributing to increased tourism revenue and promoting the development of related service industries such as accommodation, food and beverage, transportation, and shopping. The border tourism industry creates many jobs for local people, helping to reduce unemployment and increase their income.
The tourism industry in Cao Bang has seen new developments, with a focus on transforming and developing experiential tourism. Four new experiential tourism routes have been established, including "Journey to the Roots," "Exploring Phja Oac," "Experiencing Indigenous Culture," and "A Time of Fiery Flowers."
With the efforts of the local government and people, border tourism promises to become a key economic sector of Cao Bang, contributing to improving the material and spiritual lives of the local people.
