According to a survey, for the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route, with flights from early June to September 2024, one-way economy class tickets from airlines such as Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines, and Vietjet Air range from 1.4 million VND to over 1.9 million VND/one-way, a decrease of 800,000 - 1.5 million VND compared to the peak period of April 30th - May 1st.
Business class fares range from 3.5 million VND to over 5 million VND per one-way trip, a decrease of 1 million to 2 million VND compared to peak periods.
Thanks to affordable airfares and numerous promotions, the number of people booking domestic summer tours is increasing.
In early summer 2024, airlines continuously launched promotional programs, offering discounted airfares, flight and hotel packages, etc. In addition, keeping up with the market, travel agencies also launched many summer tours with preferential prices, diverse destinations, and services.
To meet the travel demands of people during the 2024 summer tourist season and the period leading up to the end of the year, a representative of the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority stated that the Authority has requested airlines to develop plans to increase the number of seats, flights, and flight hours in order to lower ticket prices. Airlines are increasing the frequency of night and early morning flights, while also developing plans and promotional programs to reduce ticket prices.
Thanks to affordable airfares and numerous promotions, the number of domestic summer tour bookings is increasing, especially for beach and island destinations like Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, and Da Nang. Many families and groups of young people are also choosing to plan their own trips and travel by motorbike or private car to save costs.
Tourism experts predict a boom in the domestic tourism market during the 2024 summer holidays, with a higher number of visitors compared to the same period last year. Airfares may continue to decrease slightly in the near future, but not as drastically as they are now.
