According to the Civil Aviation Authority, as of April 8th, airlines had provided an average of 100,000-110,000 seats per day on domestic routes during the holiday period. This represents an increase of approximately 20% compared to the average flight schedule in March.
The Civil Aviation Authority has requested that airlines consider increasing capacity on routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to destinations with high tourist demand such as Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Tuy Hoa, Binh Dinh, Cam Ranh, etc., focusing on April 27-28 and May 1-3.
Increase night flights and minimize delays and cancellations during the April 30th - May 1st holiday.
Regarding ticket prices, before the holiday, routes with high booking rates such as Hanoi - Phu Quoc had the lowest ticket price at 2.2 million VND (April 29); Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc had the lowest ticket price at 1.5 million VND (April 29); Hanoi - Hue had the lowest ticket price at 1.4 million VND (April 29); Ho Chi Minh City - Tuy Hoa had the lowest ticket price at 1.6 million VND (April 26).
The Civil Aviation Authority assesses that, as of now, on domestic routes, passengers can still book tickets and have a wide range of prices to choose from, suitable to each passenger's travel conditions and needs.
The Civil Aviation Authority noted that, similar to the peak period of the Lunar New Year, the imbalance in flight operations during the holiday season was clearly evident. Accordingly, flights from the two major cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to local airports had higher occupancy rates at the beginning of the holiday period. This rate also gradually shifted from local airports back to the two major cities towards the end of the holiday.
