Witnessing the heartbreaking images of the people of the Central region, the students studying abroad with tanned skin, the foreign experts in elegant suits, or the foreign mothers... did not hesitate to join the Vietnamese volunteers in packing each package of instant noodles, each bottle of water, each warm coat. The skillful hands, the bright smiles created a warm atmosphere in the rainy days.
With sympathy and love for those in difficulty and distress, these international friends do not hesitate to put aside work and personal life to volunteer to participate in relief efforts.
On September 11, Nathan Ross Keers (33 years old, British, with a Vietnamese wife) was present in Thai Nguyen, one of the heavily flooded areas, to distribute food and necessities to the people along with other organizations, volunteers and local forces.
Vietnamese son-in-law does not mind the rain or wind to help people affected by floods
Nathan Keers, drenched in the rain and flood, his eyes determined, his hands tightly holding hot meals, he waded through the muddy water with heavy steps. The image of Nathan, with his clothes soaked, his face covered in mud, but his eyes still shining with warmth, his smile always bright, touched the hearts of millions of people.
A smile is always on his lips while helping people.
The people, with teary eyes, received each hot meal and each kind greeting from Nathan. They felt the love and sharing. Nathan Keers, coming from a faraway land, quickly integrated into the lives of the Vietnamese people. He proved that love has no borders. His actions showed that when people join hands, we can overcome any difficulty.
He shared on his personal page: "I have been in Vietnam for 6.5 years, have a beautiful wife and two wonderful boys. Vietnam has given me more than I deserve, this country has become an indispensable part of me. I will do everything and everything to support the people in need during storms and floods. If you can donate anything during this time, please do so because the people are in great need."
A Spanish couple, Violeta and Candela, were stranded in Sa Pa (Lao Cai) due to floods. Without panicking, the two girls decided to turn the difficulty into an opportunity to help the local community. They contributed to cooking and preparing relief meals for people in isolated areas in the area.
Violeta with her golden hair and blue eyes, always full of energy, together with Candela, her best friend with a petite figure and bright smile, have turned the small kitchen in the village into a cozy place.

The two girls were supported with free accommodation and meals by Ms. Tran Thi Huyen - director of a travel company in Thach Son (Sa Pa), ensuring their safety during the dangerous flood season. In response to that sentiment, the two Spanish girls enthusiastically participated in cooking and distributing relief meals. They did not mind the hardship or fatigue, working tirelessly from morning to night with other volunteers in the field kitchen. Everyone was surprised to see the two young girls, who were only used to urban life, adapt quickly to the difficult conditions in the highlands. In the small, cozy kitchen, Violeta and Candela, along with the mothers and grandmothers, were busy preparing meals. The sound of laughter and chatter echoed throughout the house.
Not stopping there, after Typhoon Yagi passed, Ha Long city became desolate. Broken tree branches were scattered everywhere, corrugated iron roofs were flying everywhere, along with the rubble of houses, creating a heartbreaking scene. The rain was still smoldering, the wind was blowing hard, but dozens of volunteer groups, including many foreigners, did not hesitate to rush into the work of overcoming the consequences. Together, they sawed trees, collected trash, and rebuilt corrugated iron roofs.
Foreigners who participate in the clean-up after the storm are usually tourists or people living and working in Quang Ninh. They join hands to do public works with local people with enthusiasm, responsibility and love. Their smiles while working bring positive energy to many tired and anxious people.
