The typhoon that hit Vietnam caused significant disruptions to tourism, forcing many international tourists to change their plans. Flight cancellations, the closure of tourist attractions, and other unexpected incidents are unavoidable consequences of the natural disaster, causing considerable inconvenience for travelers.

Forecasts indicate that tonight, Super Typhoon Yagi will enter the Gulf of Tonkin with a strength of level 13-14, gusting to level 18. Accordingly, on September 7th, the typhoon will make landfall in Hai Phong - Quang Ninh with very strong intensity, then sweep across the Northeast and Northwest regions of Vietnam.

According to tourists, heavy rain and strong winds occurred mainly in the late afternoon and evening of September 6th. On the morning of September 7th, the strong winds subsided, but the streets were deserted, a far cry from the usual hustle and bustle of tourist destinations.

Local authorities in tourist areas have issued warnings to tourists to stay home and ordered the closure of all businesses, markets, public transport, tourist attractions, and schools.

In response to the immense destructive power of the storm, authorities have implemented numerous measures to ensure the safety of tourists.

Provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Nghe An have issued a ban on sea travel. Accordingly, Quang Ninh and Hai Phong banned sea travel from 11:00 AM today; Thai Binh and Nghe An from 5:00 AM; Nam Dinh from 6:00 AM, Thanh Hoa from 12:00 PM, and Ninh Binh from 3:00 PM on September 5th.

In Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, 879 tourists on the islands have received information about the storm and are proactively preparing for it. According to the Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, all tourists staying in Ha Long Bay will return to shore before 11:00 AM on September 6th, as directed by the Provincial People's Committee.

The Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority has issued a directive requiring several airports to temporarily suspend operations due to the impact of Typhoon YAGI, including: Van Don Airport (Quang Ninh) will suspend operations from 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM on September 7th; Cat Bi Airport (Hai Phong) will cease operations from 5:00 AM to 4:00 PM on September 7th; Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi) will be temporarily closed from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on September 7th; and Tho Xuan Airport (Thanh Hoa) will be closed from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM on September 7th.
