On July 10th, the Da Nang City Department of Tourism announced that it had recently organized a tourism promotion program for Seoul, South Korea. The program aimed to introduce and update information on new and unique tourism products, while also creating opportunities for businesses in Da Nang, Quang Nam, and Thua Thien Hue to expand their networks and connect with Korean partners.
Korean tourists account for 40% of all international visitors to South Korea.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Tran Chi Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, said that Da Nang is particularly attractive to South Korean tourists and is the fastest recovering international tourist market after the pandemic. In the first six months of this year, the number of visitors to Da Nang has equaled the total number for the entire year of 2023.
Accordingly, in the first six months of 2024, the total number of South Korean tourists staying in Da Nang reached 822,765, accounting for more than 41% of the total number of international tourists to Da Nang. This figure is almost equal to the total number of South Korean tourists to Da Nang in 2023, which was 935,000.
At this event, Da Nang launched the "Enjoy Da Nang Again" campaign to attract Korean tourists back.
During the program, Da Nang also introduced many new products to serve tourists such as: Bach Dang pedestrian street and Nguyen Van Troi pedestrian bridge, Da Nang beach flower street, Danang Downtown entertainment complex, Jetski & Flyboard show, and nightly art shows with fireworks.
Da Nang welcomes hundreds of thousands of international tourists every year.
In addition, Da Nang also hosts a series of unique international-scale events and festivals such as: the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, the Asian Film Festival, the Da Nang Enjoyment Festival, the Vietnam-Korea Festival, and the 2024 Asian Development Golf Tournament.
It can be said that the impressive growth in the number of Korean tourists in the first half of 2024 demonstrates the affection Korean visitors have for Da Nang. This reflects Da Nang's attractiveness through continuous improvements in products and service quality.
