At the German Film Festival SCHLINGEL 2019 this June, recent blockbusters from German cinema, from family films, comedies to adventures, fantasy, and myths, will be screened in Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
With nearly 30 screenings of films in the original German language with Vietnamese and English subtitles or dubbing, these carefully selected films, which have been very successful in Germany as well as Europe this year, promise to bring exciting moments to viewers.
The festival caters to all audiences, especially teenagers and young adults, with a diverse film program and special guests from Germany. At this event, special guests from Germany include: Mr. Michael Harbauer - Director of the Schlingel Children and Youth Film Festival and Ms. Sonja Lore Gabriele Ewers - Producer of the film “How to be Really Bad”
The guests will participate in introducing the film and interacting after the screening. More specifically, the guests will also have an interaction with young Vietnamese filmmakers at the event taking place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Films to be screened at this year's Film Festival include: “The Little Witch”, “Simple”, “Super”, “The Little Witch”, “Matti and Sami and the Three Greatest Mistakes in the Universe”, “The Adventures of Jim Button, Lukas and the Steam Locomotive”.
The German Film Festival SCHLINGEL 2019 promises to bring outstanding films with exciting, moving and emotional moments for cinema lovers as well as for families.
Film Festival location and time:
- Hanoi: National Cinema Center, 87 Lang Ha. Tickets will be sold at the cinema from June 17. Ticket price: 20,000 VND. Showtimes: June 21-30.
- Hue: Dong Ba Cinema, 203 Tran Hung Dao. Tickets will be distributed free at each screening location starting June 19. Showtimes: June 25 – 29.
- Da Nang: General Science Library, 44 Bach Dang, Hai Chau. Free tickets will be distributed at each screening location starting June 19. Screening schedule: June 26 – 30.
- Ho Chi Minh City: CineStar Cinema, 135 Hai Ba Trung, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1. Tickets will be sold at the cinema from June 12. Ticket price: 20,000 VND. Showtimes: June 19-24.
About the SCHLINGEL Film Festival:
The SCHLINGEL International Film Festival has been held annually in Chemnitz (Germany) since 1996 and offers the audience a comprehensive overview of the latest international cinema products for children and young people.
The official competition category was launched in 2001. Since then, the number of entries for this category has increased every year, confirming its importance in the SCHLINGEL award system. The SCHLINGEL International Film Festival 2018 attracted 25,000 visitors to Chemnitz and screened more than 230 films. In addition to talks with filmmakers, the event also included workshops for children and young people, helping attendees gain first-hand experience with camera and video equipment.
