At the German Film Festival - SCHLINGEL 2019 this June, acclaimed recent German films ranging from family dramas and comedies to adventure, fantasy, and mythology will be screened in Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
With nearly 30 screenings of films in their original German language with Vietnamese and English subtitles or dubbing, the carefully selected films for this year, which have been very successful in Germany and Europe, promise to provide viewers with enjoyable moments.

The film festival caters to all audiences, especially teenagers and young adults, with a diverse film program and special guests from Germany. At this event, special guests from Germany include: Mr. Michael Harbauer - Director of the Schlingel Children's and Youth Film Festival, and Ms. Sonja Lore Gabriele Ewers – Producer of the film "How to be Really Bad".
Guests will participate in film presentations and Q&A sessions after the premiere. More specifically, guests will also have the opportunity to interact with young Vietnamese filmmakers at events taking place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

The films to be screened at this film festival include: "The Mischievous Devil Girl", "Simple", "Superb", "The Little Witch", "Matti and Sami and the Three Biggest Mistakes in the Universe", "The Adventures of Jim Button, Lukas and the Steam Locomotive".
The German Film Festival - SCHLINGEL 2019 promises to deliver outstanding films with exciting, moving, and emotional moments for film lovers and families alike.
Location and time of the film festival:
- Hanoi: National Film Center, 87 Lang Ha Street. Tickets will be sold at the cinema from June 17th. Ticket price: 20,000 VND. Screening dates: June 21st – 30th.
- Hue: Dong Ba Cinema, 203 Tran Hung Dao Street. Tickets will be distributed free of charge at each screening location starting June 19th. Screening dates: June 25th – 29th.
- Da Nang: General Science Library, 44 Bach Dang Street, Hai Chau District. Tickets will be distributed free of charge at each screening location starting June 19th. Screening dates: June 26th – 30th.
- Ho Chi Minh City: CineStar Cinema, 135 Hai Ba Trung Street, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1. Tickets will be sold at the cinema from June 12th. Ticket price: 20,000 VND. Screening dates: June 19th – 24th.

About the SCHLINGEL Film Festival:
The SCHLINGEL International Film Festival has been held annually in Chemnitz, Germany, since 1996, offering audiences a comprehensive overview of the latest international films for children and teenagers.
The official competition category for films began in 2001. Since then, the number of nominees in this category has steadily increased each year, affirming its importance within the SCHLINGEL awards system. The 2018 SCHLINGEL International Film Festival attracted 25,000 visitors to Chemnitz and featured over 230 films. In addition to talks with filmmakers, the event included workshops for children and teenagers, providing attendees with their first experience with cameras and video equipment.
