Typhoon No. 3 left devastating consequences, but it also ignited a spirit of national unity. The film "Timeless," with its moving images of soldiers in peacetime working alongside the people to overcome the aftermath of the natural disaster, quickly became the focus of public attention. The film is not only a work of art but also a sincere thank you to the unsung heroes, the heroes in blue uniforms who are battling the harsh forces of nature day and night.
According to a representative from VFC, the film is directed by Meritorious Artist Nguyen Danh Dung, who has achieved great success with films such as "Spring Remains," "Go Home, My Son," and "The Taste of Family Love," in collaboration with screenwriter Trinh Khanh Ha.
This film project aims to honor the image of soldiers and their contributions, sacrifices, and dedication to the cause of building and defending the nation.
This film project was produced by the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army in collaboration with Vietnam Television to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024). The 60-episode series, each 25 minutes long, revolves around the image of soldiers and their contributions, sacrifices, and dedication to the cause of national construction and defense, as well as preserving, promoting, and spreading the noble values of the Ho Chi Minh Army in peacetime.
The film "Timeless," with its moving images of soldiers in peacetime working alongside the people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, quickly became the focus of public attention.
By skillfully intertwining the glorious past with the meaningful present, the film paints a comprehensive picture of the image of the "Ho Chi Minh's Army" soldier. From the smoke-filled trenches to the new battlefields on the front lines against natural disasters, the image of the soldier always appears resilient and indomitable, clearly demonstrating the tradition of "the people's army, serving the people."
A representative from VFC stated: "Reflecting the realities of social life is one of VFC's strengths in film. I remember a few years ago, amidst the tense Covid-19 situation, we quickly produced 40 episodes of 'Unforgettable Days,' which were full of the spirit of life at that time."
The film serves as a reminder of the love, sharing, and solidarity of the entire nation in the face of common difficulties.
Today, the younger generation has limited access to quality historical films. The lack of films that authentically recreate important historical events is a significant shortcoming. Historical films are not only a form of entertainment but also an extremely effective educational tool. Through vivid films, young people can gain a deeper understanding of their national history, thereby forming core values and a sense of responsibility towards their community and country.
The filming process is expected to include many large-scale scenes depicting floods, epidemics, and landslides during peacetime in various locations such as Hoa Binh, Phu Tho, Son La, Ninh Binh, etc. The film is scheduled to air in October.
