What is attracting Russian tourists to Vietnam so much? The answer lies in the rapid growth of demand for Vietnamese tourism in this market. According to the latest report from the Russian Federation of Tourism, the number of Russian tourists visiting Vietnam this past summer increased dramatically.
Notably, not only the summer but also the recent New Year and winter seasons recorded impressive revenue for travel companies. Demand for tours for this autumn and winter season has increased tenfold compared to the same period last year, mainly focusing on destinations such as Hanoi, Hoi An, Da Nang, and Phu Quoc.

With this strong growth momentum, Vietnam has impressively made it into the top 10 most popular destinations for Russian travel companies. Some companies even reported a tenfold increase in tour bookings for this autumn-winter season compared to the same period last year. This demonstrates enormous potential and opens up many new opportunities for Vietnam's tourism industry.
The number of Russian tourists visiting Vietnam in late summer has increased many times compared to the same period last year, although last year's numbers were actually low. Currently, tourists have started booking services, not only tour packages but also hotel rooms. However, there is still a shortage of transportation options to Vietnam, especially charter flights.
The number of foreign tourists in general, and Russian tourists in particular, visiting Vietnam is increasing day by day.
Oksana Volkanova, Director of Development at the travel company ICS, said that the increase in sales of tours to Vietnam is 400% compared to last year, partly due to the growing interest of Russian tourists in Southeast Asian countries, as well as regular flights with convenient connections, good prices and diverse vacation periods.
According to Russian figures, in 2019, approximately 600,000 Russians visited Vietnam, mostly on direct charter flights. In 2023, tourism began to recover after Covid-19 restrictions, and 97,000 Russians traveled to Vietnam. Meanwhile, according to Vietnamese figures, approximately 125,000 Russian tourists visited Vietnam in 2023.
